How to Get Your Rawdah Visit Permit: A Guide for UAE Pilgrims

To visit the Rawdah in Madinah you need a free digital permit, booked in advance through the Saudi Ministry’s official app, for a specific date and time slot. Slots open a few days ahead and are limited, so book as soon as your Madinah dates are fixed. It takes about ten minutes on your phone. The booking must be made by each pilgrim in their own account: it uses your own passport details, and no one can do it for you.

Before you start

• Your passport details and the visa you will be entering on
• A UAE or Saudi mobile number that can receive a verification code
• Your Madinah hotel dates, so you can pick a slot while you are there

Step by step

• Install the Saudi Ministry’s official app (search for it on the App Store or Google Play) and create an account with your own passport details.
• Verify your phone number and email.
• Choose the Rawdah visit permit and select the date and slot that fits your Madinah stay.
• Add each person in your group who needs a permit. Children need their own.
• Save the permit to your phone. It is checked at the entrance to the Rawdah.

Things people get wrong

The most common problem is leaving it until you land. Slots for popular times go quickly, especially in Ramadan and school holidays. The second is booking a slot that clashes with your Ziyarat day. Tell us your permit time and we plan around it.
