Complete Umrah Checklist for UAE Residents

The short version: three weeks before you travel, have your visa in progress, your hotel and transport confirmed in writing, and your Rawdah permit booked if you are visiting Madinah. One week before, pack ihram, medication and copies of documents. The night before, charge your phone, check your Rawdah permit is saved on it, and sleep. The full checklist follows.

Three weeks before

• Send passport, residence visa and Emirates ID copies for the visa application
• Confirm your dates, hotel names and distances from the Haram in writing
• Book your Rawdah visit permit through the Saudi Ministry’s official app if you are going to Madinah
• Check vaccinations required for your nationality

One week before

• Ihram for men: two unstitched white cloths, a belt, sandals
• For women: loose, modest clothing that is comfortable in heat, and a spare abaya
• Regular medication in original packaging with a copy of the prescription
• Printed and digital copies of passport, visa, hotel bookings and our WhatsApp number
• A small bag for the Haram: water bottle, prayer mat, tasbih, a light shawl

The night before

• Charge your phone and a power bank
• Download offline maps of Makkah and Madinah
• Set your intention and read through the rites once, calmly
• Sleep. The first day is long.

At the airport or on the coach

If you are flying, most pilgrims put on ihram before boarding or in the airport, since the miqat is passed in the air. On the coach, we stop at the miqat. Our guide will tell you when. If you are travelling with older relatives or anyone who needs a wheelchair, tell us in advance and we arrange special assistance at every airport and hotel.

Once you arrive

Rest first, then Umrah. There is no reward for rushing. Our guided Ziyarat days are planned so you have time in the Haram every day, not just on the schedule.
